What plans do you have, once your full-length is released?
We have opted to put out an EP before full length plans (The Letter Grade EP) After this is finished, we are going to play as much as possible in an attempt to shove it down everyone's throats and get out there.
What difficulties have you encountered when writing your music?
Mostly disagreements on arrangements or overall structure. We are having problems because the shows we are getting give us 15-20 minutes stage time, and with our songs getting up to 7 minutes at times, it's a struggle. We are usually pretty good at coming together as far as everything else goes.
When did you realize you were interested in writing and performing music?
Dean (Vocalist) and Tamir (Guitar) each had their own band, and already playing, so at first the acoustic band was just a "what if?" collaboration, but soon became serious. It started off with cover songs, a Bright Eyes song or two, but we knew it was time to call it a band as soon as we got our cellist.
What do you think separates you from your musical peers?
Creativity and curiosity. I think we were all sick of the same electric-guitar standard-drum-kit route many of our friends were taking. We like new instruments. Cello was not so farfetched, but it seemed to peak the interest of many listeners. We threw violins and trumpets in the mix, and as far as music today goes, out came a pretty original sound.
In your mind, what is the biggest problem plaguing music today?
Availability. It’s always been hard for us to find out about a lot of bands, even with all that the Internet is doing. As far as actually going out and buying a CD, it’s difficult. Especially if the band is smaller, and cannot tour for whatever reasons.
What has been the biggest turning point for you as a group?
It was definitely when we got out cellist (Quinn) Like we said, it was basically just cover songs until Quinn came in. Also being found by Series Two Records, because it showed us that people are actually interested in our music.
