MG: Tell me about the history of Exsanguination.
Will: Exsanguination started with the idea me and Chris had in fall 2005 to put together a metal band, we met some guys that were into metal and starting jamming with them. One was Gary Faust, a badass bass player who played a lot out of Egyptian scales and Donald West, our drummer from California/ Both of those guys ended up moving away, so its just been me and Chris since then, and we're still looking for permanent members.
Chris: Yeah, it's been easier to record with just us two, but for further progression musically, we'll definitely need some more permanent members.
MG: A lot of rumors have been going around about Exsanguination -- they are a band, they're not. What are your thoughts about this?
Will: Exsanguination is definitely a band, 100% a band. We may not have a full lineup all the time, and we're still working on getting a full lineup, so we can start doing some shows.
Chris: Yeah, we're a band, we've just been lazy lately.
MG: How did you come up with the name of the band?
Will: Exsanguination means death from sudden blood loss. We were just looking for a metal name and that was the best one we came across.
MG: How did you come up with the lyrics?
Will: Well, the lyrics range from journals of serial killers to umm scriptures of the doctrine and covenants, haha, Well, just about whatever, we just try to keep it as metal as possible.
Chris: Yeah, our lyrics are different, but they work.
MG: What other bands have influence you musically?
Will: A lot of death metal bands that paved the way for us, like cannibal corpse, cattle decapitation, alot of bands like those
Chris: More technical death metal bands like necrophagist and nile really were a big influence on us too, especially when gary was in the band
MG: Is Exsanguination a vegan band?
Will: As of right now yeah, but were open to non vegan artists, just as long as you're into death metal and want to jam.
MG: Future plans for Exsanguination?
Will: Putting the finishing touches on our demo, and getting permanent members.
