Suffering has always seemed to exist, like gravity. In fact it is so interwoven into our reality, that it appears we are incapable of denying its authenticity, or destroying the grasp it has upon us. Suffering, it would seem, also has a way of compelling us to feel and act in very inexplicable ways, bending us to its will and manipulating our emotions to the point where we are helpless with in its control, inevitably breaking us down into the tailspin of pain and sorrow. And like gravity, the more suffering you accumulate, the more suffering is drawn to you, why is this? Is their some significant force inherent within suffering that pulls its kindred towards us?
Personally I just think misery enjoys company.
Is suffering smitten upon us, happenstance, bad luck, or self-inflicted? The fourth is my conclusion, for I see suffering like little traps we unconsciously set for our selves, then fall repeatedly into them. Granted, an unexpected death or car crash seems to be out of our control, but ask your self this, do we not put ourselves into those situations by our actions, past and present? Or were we compelled by some higher power to be in that certain place at a certain time, maybe shit really does just happens. As for me, I would like to suggest that we are, and have always been the unmitigated creators of our realities, including our situations and our afflictions. Fate, freedom, or just plain fuck it! What is the truth of our lives??? That question seems uncertain until we see the light. But I do know this, if we truly have the ability to shape and mold the future with our actions, the ability to create our realities based around our own will, then the possibilities are endless for what we can achieve, including the elimination of suffering.
